Official Bike Registration Station Program

With the increased popularity of cycling in recent years and the approaching bike season, retailers, colleges and police departments are looking to offer additional services at upcoming rides, clinics, safety fairs and other local events. Here’s where the “Official Bike Registration Station” program by National Bike Registry (NBR®) – the nation’s largest bicycle database and recovery service – comes into place. The program includes free and fundraising opportunities and helps highlight participants in the local community.

NBR bike registration packs (retail $10) are available to retailers to offer with bikes they sell or take in for repair and to law enforcement and non-profit organizations to provide to their community or use as a fundraiser at up to a 60 percent wholesale discount. The pack registers one bike for 10 years and includes the NBR tamper-proof ID label for the bike and a bonus BoomerangIt label for a bike accessory, another bike, or a portable electronic item, as well as instructions how to apply the label and register in the NBR database.

If your budget is limited, NBR provides free bike registry forms, educational flyers, posters and “Official Bike Registration Station” window decals. Public relations support is also available to designate participants as the place in their neighborhood where people can register and protect their bikes. Police departments receive free access to the NBR database to check on recovered bikes.

Recent participants in the program include Yale University, Rochester Institute of Technology, Marshall Police Department, Santa Monica College, Cranford Police Department, Trikke Tampa Store, The Bicycle Cellar, Outskirts Bike Shop & Outdoors, and All3Sports.com among many others.
